A parent in our program shared her son's progress over several months, starting with picky eating and limited sentences and moving toward trying new foods, longer sentences, more eye contact, and back-and-forth conversation. Results vary by child, and she credits the community and coaching for helping her notice and support these changes.
| Where they started | Where they are now |

| Her son mostly ate "beige foods" like oatmeal and crackers and avoided eggs and other proteins, and he wasn't yet having back-and-forth conversations. | He is now trying new foods like sweet potato muffins and carrot fries, using longer sentences, repeating more words, making more eye contact, and having real back-and-forth exchanges with his mom. |
After struggling to get her son to eat protein beyond his usual beige foods, this mom tried homemade sweet potato, egg, and spinach muffins and he loved them.
“I made homemade mini muffins with sweet potato, eggs, and spinach and he loved them!” (parent in Six Months to Speech)
She observed a big increase in eye contact and listening, along with continued progress introducing new foods.
“The amount of eye contact I’m seeing now is absolutely crazy, and even his listening has improved so much because of this program.” (parent in Six Months to Speech)
Her son asked for seconds after trying carrot fries, another new food added to his dinners.
“I made carrot fries yesterday and he asked for seconds.” (parent in Six Months to Speech)
Instead of just saying a single word, her son opened the fridge and said a full sentence asking for bread.
“This morning my son had the fridge opened and was saying I need bread” (parent in Six Months to Speech)
She noticed her son repeating phrases back to her much more often than before, a pattern she recognized as part of his language growth.
“if I say, "I love you," he'll repeat it back. In the past, he wouldn't do that, but now he's repeating a lot more.” (parent in Six Months to Speech)

Based on what this mom shared, yes, she was told that repeating words first and understanding them later is part of the process for a lot of kids. Of course every child's path looks different, so results vary, but you can learn more about how this works in our free live training.
This particular family started noticing changes within the first couple of months, with more coming in the months after that. We can't promise the same timeline for every child since results vary, but our free live training explains the approach so you can see if it fits your family.
